Shrimp and fish compatibility
Cherry shrimp babies are food. Amano adults last longer. Anything with a mouth bigger than the shrimp, or a nasty streak, belongs in the last list. A planted species tank is still the reliable way to keep a colony.
Copper in ich meds will wipe a colony. So will a filter intake without a sponge. A planted 10 with leaf litter and stable GH is a better shrimp tank than a 40 stuffed with tetras. Amanos eat more algae; cherries breed if nothing eats the babies.
